NFIB Endorses U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp for Reelection
WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 7, 2006 -- The National Federation of Independent Business, the nation’s leading small-business advocacy group, today announced its endorsement of U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp for reelection in Tennessee’s 3rd Congressional District. Rep. Wamp’s outstanding legislative record on small-business issues during the 109th Congress has earned him the group’s endorsement again this year as he runs for his seventh term.
“Rep. Wamp’s legislative record on small-business issues has been perfect this Congressional session,” said Dan Danner, executive vice president of NFIB. “Rep. Wamp has been a strong voice for affordable health care, liability reform and fiscal responsibility during his time in Congress. We need more lawmakers like Rep. Wamp in Washington fighting for the things that are most important to our country’s number-one job creators – small-business owners.”
This session, Rep. Wamp has voted to pass Small-Business Health Plans legislation, full and permanent repeal of the death tax and legislation that will reduce frivolous lawsuits against small-businesses.
“NFIB thanks Rep. Wamp for his unwavering support of America’s small-business community and his advocacy of pro-small business policy in the House,” said Danner. “NFIB strongly supports Rep. Wamp in his bid for reelection and looks forward to working with him in the 110th Congress.” NFIB’s political support is based on the candidates’ positions and records on small-business issues. Rep. Wamp’s endorsement comes from SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the organization’s political action committee. The endorsement brings the considerable clout and grassroots support of Tennessee’s small-business owners to the Wamp campaign. NFIB has been ranked the most influential business-lobbying organization in the country by Fortune magazine all four years the magazine has conducted its survey.
